BurgerFi, a fast casual eatery known for its all-natural ingredients, will open its first South Carolina location in North Myrtle Beach next month.
The restaurant plans to open at 11 a.m. Aug. 5 at 801 Main St., at the corner of U.S. 17, in a building that has housed everything from a fish fry restaurant to a Burger King.
Crews are busy transforming the space, including adding a patio. BurgerFi also will have a full bar including craft beer and wine.
“When you walk in a [BurgerFi], it’s a happening place,” said Tom Stewart, who is general manager of the new location.

BurgerFi aims to evoke the feel of the hamburger stands of the 1950s and 1960s, and is known for its all natural Angus burger, hand-cut fries and frozen custards. The average burger costs about $6 or $7. BurgerFi also has a veggie burger, as well as burger toppings that include premium options such as grilled mushrooms and a fried egg.
The franchisee picked North Myrtle Beach as the spot for its first location in South Carolina because of the millions of tourists who visit each year, including those playing at the nearby North Myrtle Beach Park & Sports Complex, which opened earlier this year, Stewart said.
“There are a lot of good new things happening in North Myrtle Beach,” he said.
BurgerFi’s hours will be 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday.
In addition to BurgerFi, the Grand Strand has attracted several burger chains in recent years, including Highway 55 Burgers (formerly known as Andy’s) and Cook-Out, which recently opened its second area location on Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach.
BurgerFi started in Florida in 2010 and has more than 60 locations across the country.
