Loris’ ‘Tiger Radio’ turning to classic country format
“Tiger Radio” in Loris will trade its talk format for all classic country music as of noon Monday.
WLSC-AM 1240 “Tiger Radio” will play hits from the 1950s-’90s, giving listeners in this market an outlet around the clock to hear such icons as Alabama, Loretta Lynn, Kenny Rogers, George Strait, the late Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, George Jones, Conway Twitty and Tammy Wynette.
The station, operated by “Banana” Jack Murphy, general manager, also will play a “Hymn of the Hour,” with a gospel song recorded by classic country artists, gospel quartets, and occasionally a local or regional act.
Broadcasts of Clemson University Tigers football, as well as a partial schedule of University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish games, will continue as well, Murphy confirmed.
WLSC, which first signed on in 1958, has been owned since 2007 by Banana Jack Murphy Productions. Listen live at 843-733-3153 or 213-493-0145.
