‘Where is the food at?’ Randy robbers demand more than money

The woman had just returned to her Loris home from collecting rent money when she said she noticed a shadowy figure in her carport. That figure and another man have now been identified as “armed and dangerous” suspects wanted by police for the home invasion that followed the shadowy sighting on the night of Sept. 28.

One of the suspects, 19-year-old Shaquan Taereek Hemingway of Loris, was arrested Monday, but Horry County police continue to search for his accused accomplice, 24-year-old Dominique Hemingway of Tabor City, N.C.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 843-248-1520.

Police responded to the home on U.S. Highway 701 shortly after 9 p.m., Sept. 28, to find a family “compromising a secure scene” inside the home, Horry County police officers noted in their report.

A woman told the officers she had just returned home with $360 in rent money and went to her storm door to find “a black male wearing dark clothes was attempting to get inside of her residence,” according to the report.

When she went to push him out of her home, “a second black male wearing dark clothes forced his way” inside, the woman told police.

“One of the males placed a gun to her head” and demanded money, taking the $360 out of her wallet, she told law enforcement. One of the men then asked “where the food was at and if she had a husband,” according to the report.

The woman said she told them her husband would be home shortly, to take what they wanted but please not harm her.

One of the men “then slapped her on her buttocks and told her to tell her husband he had a nice wife and they would be watching her,” the report stated.

The men reportedly told the woman to sit in a chair “for five minutes and not to move” as they left out of a side door. The victim told police she called her father and other family members before a call was made to 911.
