High school football roundup | Myrtle Beach rolls past Wilson

Tyler Keane followed last week’s impressive finish with another stellar night for Myrtle Beach in its Region VII-AAA opener against Wilson.

Keane threw for five touchdowns and was 17-for-23 with 343 yards passing in the Seahawks’ 54-21 win.

“Tyler had a big night tonight,” Myrtle Beach coach Mickey Wilson said. “Our offensive line is getting a little bit more comfortable, which is allowing time. Our timing and everything is coming together. We will continue to get better if we stay on that path.”

Keane tossed two to Trell Harrell, who also had a rushing score on the night. He also had two scores to C.J. Cooper and the first one of the night went to Reinard Pointer.

“We’ve been getting better on offense. We had a great first quarter and got complacent in the second quarter,” Wilson said. “It is a good region win. We’re continuing to improve. We still have a long way to go to be a great football team. We are just trying to get better everyday.”
