Player to Watch (September 7)

Octavius Thomas

School | Myrtle Beach

Class | Senior

Position | Linebacker

The scoop | The player known simply as “OT” to Myrtle Beach fans made sure everyone knew right out of the gate he was back from nagging injuries that sidelined him for the majority of 2011. The team’s leading tackler from two seasons ago piled up 15 combined stops in the season-opening victory over Irmo. That kind of effort will be doubly appreciated tonight against South Florence. Starting Bruins quarterback Josh Johnson is leading an offense that is putting up points in a hurry, and if Thomas is successful, it will do wonders to keep Myrtle Beach in control of this game.
