Arnold Palmer, winner of seven major championships in a storied golfing career, died Sunday at the age of 87.
His death was reported by Golf Digest on Twitter and by Golfweek on its website.
Between 1958 and 1964, Palmer, a native of Latrobe, Pa., won the Masters tournament four times, the U.S. Open once and the British Open twice. In all, he chalked up 26 amateur wins and 95 professional wins before retiring in 2006 after a 52-year career.
