TIJUANA, Mexico (AP) -- Gabriel Gutierrez doubled twice, scoring two runs as the Toros de Tijuana topped the Tigres de Quintana Roo 13-1 on Tuesday.
Luis Alfonso Cruz doubled and singled for Tijuana.
Tijuana got on the board first in the third inning when Henry Urrutia hit a two-run single.
Tijuana later scored in three additional innings, including a five-run sixth, when Jesus Valdez hit a three-run home run to help put the game out of reach.
Tijuana southpaw Raul Valdes (2-1) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing one run on five hits over six innings. Opposing starter Erick Valenzuela (1-1) took the loss in the Mexican League game after a rough outing in which he allowed five runs and seven hits over 3 1/3 innings.
The seven extra-base hits for Tijuana included a season-high five doubles.
