MEXICO CITY (AP) -- David Vidal hit a three-run home run in the first inning, and Oswaldo Arcia hit a two-run home run and had three hits, driving in four as the Diablos Rojos del Mexico beat the Piratas de Campeche 14-2 on Tuesday.
The home run by Vidal capped a four-run inning and gave the Diablos Rojos a 4-0 lead after Arcia hit an RBI single earlier in the inning.
Mexico later scored in four additional innings, including a five-run fourth, when Emmanuel Avila hit a two-run double to help put the game away.
Mexico southpaw Matt Gage (1-1) picked up the win after allowing two runs on four hits over 5 1/3 innings. Opposing starter Jorge Rivera (1-1) took the loss in the Mexican League game after allowing seven runs and six hits over 1 2/3 innings.
Mexico hit a season-high seven doubles in its victory.
