"It was a real good fit for me," Johnson told Kornblut. "It's close to home. Spurrier is a legend. I can't wait to be a part of his program. I feel like I fit into his system real well. Coach Hunt is a great coach and they all have NFL experience. I think it will be a good fit for me to get to that next level."
Johnson chose South Carolina over N.C. State, Maryland, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Duke, East Carolina and Wake Forest.
