Garden City Beach

Established | Garden City Beach is unincorporated.

Why it’s grand | Garden City Beach is one of the more laid-back spots on the Grand Strand with beaches offering ample space for sunbathers and swimmers. It’s popular with anglers and surfers, too.

Major events | A golf cart parade every July 4.

What’s new | Traffic improvements were made at the Garden City Connector over the winter, extending turn lanes from U.S. 17 Bypass for the intersection that saw increased traffic with a new Wal-Mart at its beachside terminal. St. Michael Catholic Church and School opened a new and larger facility in July 2012.

Property tax rate | As an unincorporated area, Garden City Beach doesn’t have its own taxes. Horry County’s rate is 45.2 mills.
