I am embarrassed. I am humiliated. I served aspiring president Mitt Romney in his campaign in 2012. I was devastated when he lost.
Why did Mitt Romney lose the 2012 election for president? Tagg Romney, his son, hit the nail on the hear when he said, “he wanted to be president less than anyone I've met in my life. He had no desire to run. If he could have found someone else to take his place he would have been ecstatic to step aside.”
“Does this guy want to lose?” Bill O'Reilly asked; “the answer is yes, he did not want to be president of the United States, and that's why he lost.”
Romney was listless and lethargic. He allowed the media to define him and the GOP agenda, something that Donald Trump would never have allowed.
In 2012 Mitt Romney and Barack Obama were in a debate when Candy Crowley, the moderator, jumped on Romney insisting that he was lying in one of his debate points. This made Romney look foolish and helped throw the debate Obama's way.
Can you imagine how Trump would have struck back at her like a rattlesnake that had been stepped on? No warning bell would have prevented Trump for going for the jugular. Romney didn't lose to Barack Obama. He lost to Candy Crowley.
Romney has attacked Donald Trump, because Romney represents the GOP establishment, typically viewed as elitist, politically moderate, and out-of-touch with conservative voters. Since 2008, the GOP leadership has done virtually nothing to uphold the American family. Marriage as a sacred institution has been abandoned. The GOP leadership has stood down every time families begged them to rise up.
The only person raising the alarm concerning this malfeasance of the GOP establishment is Donald Trump and that is the reason the GOP leadership has attacked him.
