I was coming from my doctors office down Farrow Parkway and decided to go to McDonalds and get a of coffee. I noticed as I was sitting at the very long light in order to go south on 17. There were hundreds of cars under the new bridge with me waiting for lights to turn.
I noticed while waiting, there were hardly any cars going north and south over the new overpass. This is a terrible design. This did not change any of the congestion. A waste of money in my opinion.

Consider criminal charges
for illegal seawall
“DHEC staff members discovered the unapproved Isle of Palms seawall this fall, buried under sandbags,” according to an article by The (Columbia) State.
This act shows willful deception and criminal intent to violate state, and possibly federal, environmental laws. Maybe someone should be looking into who was responsible for the work, as well as all those knowingly complicit in its illegal construction..
State surplus no help
with looming hikes
Huge state, county, and local budget surpluses this year, but between inflated assessment and increased millage rate, my property taxes will rise almost 20 percent.
Can’t wait to see what they do with a deficit. I moved here to escape these unwarranted tax increases.
Problem is, criminals
don’t read ‘no guns’ signs
Re: Nov 11 letter from Pam Crenshaw, “Gun bans bring relief to some”
Ms. Crenshaw, if a “No Concealed Weapons” sign on an establishment gives you relief, allow me to pass on something that should really make you feel good. First of all, convicted felons are not allowed to own firearms, much less carry them concealed. Secondly, in order to carry a concealed firearm, a law abiding citizen has to undergo a certain amount of training and pass a SLED background check. Feeling good yet?
However, convicted felons and “wannabes” don’t follow laws and won’t even read the “No Concealed Weapons” signs. I would rather take my chances with any law abiding citizen with a legally concealed firearm inside an establishment if these dirt bags come in shooting, than to not have any support at all.
A big problem in this country is that many people, like you, know nothing about firearms (many in law-making positions). Remember, guns don’t shoot people, people shoot people. People stab people. People strangle people.
Still feeling good?
