Re: Nov. 12 letter from Brian Kasprzyk, “Listen first and check the facts”
This headline and basic message is good. But the statement “Too often, the Internet and Fox News, especially Fox News contain unsubstantiated facts, opinions masked as facts, lies and misrepresentations, exaggerations and lots of hyperbole” erroneously singles out Fox News.
Full disclosure: I am a conservative. The leftist media as a whole protects leftists, not by lying but by covering up news damaging to the left by simply not reporting it. If and when it finally does, it is frequently dismissed in leftist quarters as “old news” especially after leftists’ re-elections when too many have simply not been exposed to facts available on Fox News.
The so-called “main stream media” and leftists as a whole demonize Fox News and conservative sources such as Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck with broad assertions of their being unreliable such as the assertions made in the above letter to the editor. These sources consistently support their news with videos showing exactly what leftists have said.
Trust me, if any of the rightist sources publish any untruth it would be all over the leftist media.
On the other hand we have a current example of the main stream media not reporting admitted leftist lies, I could not say it better than it was in The Daily Caller:
“Conservative commentator Charles Krauthammer slammed the recently uncovered video of Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber saying the ‘stupidity of the American voter’required them to deceive the public about what was in the Affordable Care Act, saying the comment represented the ‘true voice of liberal arrogance.’”
“This is exactly what conservatives have been saying for four years, what we’re hearing now is the true voice of liberal arrogance. They believe this. They believe that the voters are stupid, as he said, and they believe that they know the right way, they have to lead the masses to the Promised Land, and they can only do it by deception. And that’s what he said openly: ‘We wanted to get the bill, we didn’t care about how we did it, so we lied about everything. We lied about if you can keep the plan, knowing that you can’t keep your plan. We lied about the fact this would be a transfer of wealth, a massive transfer of wealth.’ Because, as Gruber said, had they known that, it would never have passed. They lied about every aspect of this, and I think that is what has been charged all along.
“And it is a scandal of the media that this has to be discovered in the sixth year of the presidency rather than talked about at the time, when it was obvious they were lying about all this. The idea of it being a transfer of wealth was known from the beginning. But they got away with it.”
The president himself has famously admitted many lies he told the American people in promoting Obamacare. These admissions have been recorded. Were you aware — before the fact?
The main stream media flat out did not cover the Benghazi disgrace initially, nor the misrepresentations about it by leading administration officials and the president. If it had, Obama may not have been re-elected.
He might not have been elected in the first place if the mainstream media had been forthcoming as to his extreme leftist upbringing and subsequently chosen extreme left associations. I was aware and voted against him but then welcomed what his election might say about America’s racial acceptance.
