Gun bans bring
relief to some
Re: Nov. 7 letter from Richard Rossi, “Gun bans show disrespect to many”
Oh, Mr. Rossi, I recognize the disrespect you must feel when you see a “No Concealed Weapons” sign. I am not a gun owner and have no knowledge of guns. I feel relief when I see that sign on an establishment.
Many who carry guns are not as well trained and as respectful as you and other military and law enforcement people. You may feel disrespected; I feel relief. I do hope that we will be able to find some way to satisfy both our responses to this signage.
Giving thanks for stores
closed on Thanksgiving
An open letter to BJ's Wholesale Club, Barnes & Noble, Burlington Coat Factory, Costco, DSW, Dillards, Gamestop, HomeGoods, Joanne Fabric, Marshalls, Nordstrom, Pier I, Publix, and TJ Maxx re remaining closed on Thanksgiving Day: Thank you, thank you, thank you.
You're a source of fresh air in this greedy world. My personal backlash against all the stores who will be open is to stay home. Enjoying the holiday with family and friends and serving my community through our church must be old-fashioned. If so, so be it.
Why wait to change
signal light timing
The article on the opening of the back gate bridge stated that highway officials do not plan to adjust the timing on the signal under the bridge until 2015, possibly in the spring.
Why wait? This same article acknowledged wait times as long as 10 minutes at this signal. Why not change it now?
