After watching the ETV debate between Bakari Sellers and Henry McMaster, it's obvious why McMaster didn't want to debate Sellers. McMaster had a few lines about the offices he's run for in the past and of course he still loves Ronald Reagan. Sellers is all about the future of South Carolina and our citizens. He's ready to lead after serving eight years in the S.C. House and has earned our votes.
South Carolina desperately needs new ideas and leadership. Please join me in voting for a new day and team, Vincent Sheheen for governor and Bakari Sellers for lieutenant governor. We want a brighter future for all of our citizens and not more of the past.

Goldfinch no-tax pledge
doesn’t include fees, fines
Thank you for the good article in The Sun News with the comparision of the candidates Stephen Goldfinch and Vida Miller. I was very surprised to read what Mr. Goldfinch has proposed. All I have heard from his campaign has been his emphasis on having signed the pledge not to raise taxes. Many people have spoken about him and are counting on not having taxes raised. They do not want to spend more money.
As it turns out, if you are counting on not paying more to the state, think again. Mr. Goldfinch has all kinds of ideas to raise monies. Among these are license fees and registration of golf carts and trailers. He is talking about increased fines for traffic offenses. He did not mention in the article all of his 10 to 12 ideas, but he thinks we can raise a half-billion dollars.
So if you were going to vote for Mr. Goldfinch to avoid giving more money to the state think again. It could cost you a lot more. I will vote for Vida Miller who has a proven record of keeping spending down and accomplishing results.
