I sent this to every one of our state senators on Oct. 15:
Why doesn't the state of South Carolina issue a travel ban on anyone who has traveled in the west African nations where the Ebola is spreading. If we can't do that, make it felony to enter into this state from those nations because they are knowingly putting our citizens in harm’s way. Let us send a message that we care about our citizens and our children even if the federal government does not.
I suggest every reader do the same. Also vote out of office everyone who does not agree with this action. If this is not an impeachable offense nothing else is in my opinion.
SC hospitals must
Re: Oct. 15 article, “DHEC director tests S.C. protocols”
Catherine Templeton, director of SC DHEC, you say that you wanted to check for holes in SC hospital vulnerabilities to Ebola protocols. I hope you checked more thoroughly than just registration areas.
The article points out that the Dallas hospital nurse “allegedly wore full personal protection equipment.” Do you think that “full personal protection equipment” (i.e., paper gowns, masks, head and feet coverings) as used by most hospitals will protect workers, and especially nurses, from the very physical effects of Ebola patients' explosive diarrhea and projectile vomiting? That's pretty graphic, huh? No everything must be sanitized, just from those effects, let alone that it's deadly stuff.

Golf rangers’ actions
chase off visitors
My friends and I have frequented your golf courses for the last 15 years and all in all have enjoyed them immensely. But we will not be going back again because of your golf rangers.
Twice last weekend we were verbally harassed by rangers for slow play. In the first case we were stunned because we were staying ahead of the foursome behind us but were held up by the foursome ahead of us. We were stunned when the ranger said something. We can all hit the ball straight down the middle consistently and play ready golf.
The second time the starter/ranger was rude and arrogant telling us we were behind and to keep up. To which I said to him: “keep up with who?” There was no one in front of us. We never saw a group behind us all day. He ruined our round and our day. This has been an issue down there through the years. We never get harassed up north.
Palmetto light will ensure
bypass snarls will continue
I just read the article about the upcoming opening of the overpass at the old back gate of the Air Force base. Imagine my suprise when I read that they are keeping the traffic light at Palmetto Point Boulevard.
Thank you very much for wasting $121 million of our hard earned taxpayer money. I thought the purpose of the overpass was to alleviate the traffic congestion at the backgate intersection.
Now it will only stack up again another 100 yards down the road.
