Are you kidding me Myrtle Beach? Memorial Day weekend is meant to celebrate what’s right with America and the heroes who gave their lives for the justice and freedom we all enjoy.
This is not a weekend to celebrate the zeroes being murderers, criminals, using profanity, public intoxication, driving under the influence, littering, public indecency, noise violators, traffic law violators and an all-around disregard for any law. Do you want your own mother walking down Ocean Boulevard on this holiday to thank the American hero?
First, I’m not a racist. This is about respecting the law, the citizens of Myrtle Beach, and the fine folks who put their lives on the line to protect us. Second, what we need is not to have a lot of new legislation, but enforce the laws we now have.
It is common knowledge that Myrtle Beach does not have the facilities to incarcerate all law violators. The law enforcement officers provide more of a presence like a dog that doesn’t bite.

The solution, in my opinion, is to have a tent city set up at the old Myrtle Beach Mall site and start the criminal processing and lock up. Zero tolerance for the zeroes. To bring in tourism and returning guests, have a celebration of our veterans.
Provide a free golf game for our heroes. Have all the golf courses decorated with flags and bunting.
In fact, let all of the citizens of Myrtle Beach put up flags like my neighbor Hannah to show our appreciation of the deceased and living heroes.
Let’s get the American Legion, VA, VFW and all veteran organizations involved. Let’s celebrate the heroes not the zeroes and hold our city leaders accountable.
