Time for South Carolina to get in step. There are 45 states that have laws regarding using a cell phone or texting while driving. South Carolina does not have this life-saving law. Why?
I hereby bring to your attention that cell phone use and texting is like driving drunk. Also, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety projects that that 22 percent of all accidents could be caused by such reckless behavior. Our legislators are negligent, and we need to prod them.
I suggest a petition drive. I’ll be the first signer and will play a large role. The life you save may be your own, or that of your loved ones, or mine.
