Parents need to teach integrity to children

Re Nov. 18 column by Peter McKary, “Sneaking snacks is movie fun”

The article by Peter McKay in Sunday’s paper spoke volumes. What can we expect of our young people today when supposedly responsible parents teach their children how to be dishonest? Call it what you will. To encourage sneaking snacks into the movies and waiting until the lights dim before bringing them out to secretly indulge is a clear form of dishonesty.

It certainly can spill over into every facet of their lives. Where are our principles? What better teachers do our children have than their principled, caring parents? Where did those parents go?
