The Sudan Shriners were visiting Myrtle Beach the weekend of Sept. 22 for the South Atlantic Shrine Association. During our stay, one of our Lady Shriners with the beginnings of dementia had gone out away from our hotel, The Landmark Resort, and did not return. It was reported to the Myrtle Beach Police Department and to the Landmark security and the search began. Luckily right before dark she was found by the police and brought back to the Landmark safe and sound.
I would like to offer special thanks to Police Officers Tanner and Woodruff and the Beach Patrol Officer Cain. They, along with the Landmark Security Officer Angela Pender and Landmark staff -- Rachel, James, Joby, Alexis, Billy, Devon, Anthony and Mark -- saved the weekend which could have been a real heart-breaking experience for us all if she had not been found or was hurt. All involved did an outstanding job and once again thanks.
