Letters to the Editor

What happened to our grip on reality?

Two of my friends (who do not know each other) have called Obama the anti-Christ! (I don’t know what that really means, but it sure seems weird to me.)

Then we have the birthers led by Donald Trump (I’m thinking that way too many of us have way too much time on our hands).

Now there’s a group led by Jack Welch, an ex-CEO of GE, who is accusing Obama of colluding with the Congressional Budget Office to skew the jobless numbers!

Are we all going insane? What has happened to reality?

I read in the news today that Rep. Paul Broun, R-Ga, well known as a outspoken church Christian, believes that the theories of evolution and the Big Bang are “lies straight from the pit of hell.” I can only ask, why is science (which is certain of nothing and requires proof of everything) taking a back seat to religion (which is certain of everything and requires proof of nothing)?

Maybe it’s me who’s going insane.

I’ve got to go, there’s two men at my front door wearing white coats; they have a straight jacket in their hands. If you don’t hear from me for a while, get my wife to fill you in.
