Killing geese is not acceptable

Three innocent, living beings (geese) were killed tonight by a heartless driver who mowed them down at the intersection of Hollywood and 10th Avenue North in Surfside Beach and simply left. Their feathers and remains extended up the block and their bodies were left in the middle of the road.

My daughter, horrified at the carnage, sat and wept in the car as I directed traffic around these birds until the police came.

The tragedy could have escalated had a motorcyclist hit them in the aftermath. It then could have then been three dead geese and a dead person.

The actions of the individual who did this were wrong. We need to have a social conscience where we will not tolerate these behaviors.
