On Sept. 11, we had the privilege of attending the dedication of the World Trade Center beam. It makes one very proud to live on the Grand Strand.
This area really respects its patriots and veterans, senior citizens, police and firefighters. Myrtle Beach Mayor John Rhodes spoke at the ceremony and it was very touching. Having such a person as Mr. Rhodes as mayor should be a source of pride in our area.
The only sour note was the helicopters that kept flying directly over the site. Couldn’t they have slightly adjusted their flight pattern? Other than that, it was a great experience.
