Sand sculpture in Charlotte a waste of local money

Please someone tell me I didn’t read this story right. Our Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce just spent $30,000 to put up a sand sculpture at the Democratic convention in Charlotte, N.C.

OK, I don’t really care if you’re a Democrat or Republican, but if this sand sculpture is for real could someone possibly tell me who is in charge of our Chamber of Commerce and where their brain is located? I’m not sure anyone could ever convince me how a sand sculpture donated from Myrtle Beach for the ridiculous price of $30,000 can possibly help our town obtain new visitors. How do these kinds of ridiculous thinking people attain their positions? And the beat goes on, where is the outrage?
