Presidential candidate comparison was full of half-truths

Re Aug. 20 letter by James E. Dunn, “Comparing Obama and Romney”

Mr. Dunn’s attempt to define Romney vs. Obama would be far more helpful if it was a) correct or) b complete. Unfortunately, it is neither. Allow me to help.

Number one, pro-choice legislation: Unlike Democrats worshiping at the altar of Planned Parenthood, Republicans have a problem with unborn babies being torn to pieces in mom’s womb and tossed in the trash. Number two, Romney has promised not to raise taxes on anyone. Obamacare alone includes over 20 new taxes affecting everyone, not to mention the mandate, declared a tax by the Supreme Court.

Three, false again. Romney’s plan doesn’t change anything for people 55 or older, or those who are currently on Medicare. Conversely, Obamacare takes $716 billion from Medicare to pay for itself. Four, Romney and Republicans support school choice while Democrats insist on keeping children in failing public schools out of loyalty to the teacher’s union.

I could go on with all 10, but you get the idea. Do your own research, educate yourself. Don’t get all your news from Jon Stewart or MSNBC.
