All the talk about I-73 to connect Michigan to South Carolina has been going on for years and will continue for years to come.
Let’s start working on roads that will help South Strand residents evacuate during emergencies. Let’s finish S.C. 31 South; U.S. 17 south to Georgetown is not exactly a safe exit because you have to drive 25 miles south and you are only 1 or 2 miles from the beach.
Signs were erected a couple of years ago stating that Glenns Bay Road coming out of Surfside Beach would be made wider. They are starting to rust out.
Today, Glenns Bay Road would become a parking lot in an emergency. Let’s finish projects that were started years ago, especially S.C. 31.
