Re Aug. 1 Issac Bailey column, “Celebrating love on a unique day”
I too celebrate my marriage of 31 years to my loving husband. I also celebrate my Christian belief in a loving and faithful God. And it disturbs me to hear how one-sided we have become in allowing the opinions of some, but not all to be heard and respected.
I applaud Mr. Cathy, CEO of Chick-fil-A for not hiding behind his Christian beliefs that have become the standard for his business. What many fail to realize is that God loves every man, woman and child; he has given each of us the gift of free will to make our own choices, then to be accountable for those choices, trusting that we will seek to follow his word.
However, God does not condone behaviors simply because today’s society says they are acceptable. I personally do not stand in judgment of any human being; I will have enough to account for when the day comes. However, the Bible tells us that God created Adam and Eve, man and woman; the man will be “united with his wife and become one.”

And so, while Mr. Bailey and his family were driving through town, celebrating their anniversary, I, along with my mother, was waiting in the drive-through line at Chick-fil-A, in support of Mr. Cathy and for a delicious peach milkshake.
