In response to the July 12 front page article “Family awaits new home,” I would like to offer kudos to Heartland Hospice for the remarkable work that they did in getting a new home for one of their patients through the Waccamaw Regional Council of Governments. The efforts expended by Ginger Bartos and the Heartland team in accomplishing this task, which is above and way beyond the requirements, is what sets apart a hospice. As a former employee of Heartland I am aware of the fact that they have helped countless people in the community through their nonprofit foundation.
I am led to publicly thank and acknowledge Heartland Hospice for the outstanding community support that they offer.
