Costs hidden in health care bill alarming

I find many parts of the Obama health care bill good. What scares me the most are all the other features hidden in the 2,200-plus pages. So what do the following two examples have to do with health care?

The current rate for Medicare health insurance is $94.40 per month, rising to $104.20 in 2012 and to a whopping $120.20 in 2013. After the election.

After the election in 2013 you will have to pay a 3.8 percent sales tax on your home when you sell it. This will hurt retiring seniors as they downsize and make it perhaps impossible to move to Myrtle Beach.

Most congressmen do not know this. The lamestream media won't report it. So this is change you believe in. Wake up, everyone.

The writer lives in North Myrtle Beach.

Editor’s note: The tax on home sales will apply only to high-earning individuals and only on sale profits of more than $250,000. Get more details here.
