Christians not judging, just believing

Bradley Pierce’s July 8 letter says “Conservative letters short on facts.” His letter asks “where did Jesus say homosexuality was wrong?” and says that those who teach that it is a sin are being judgmental. I’m glad that Bradley asked and would like to respond with the suggestion we not form our own opinions, but let’s see what God’s Word, the Holy Bible, does say.

Let’s first look in Leviticus 18:22 where God says “Do not practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is a detestable sin.”

Then in I Corinthians 6:9-11 it tells us homosexuals are included in those who will not inherit the Kingdom of God unless cleansed and made holy. How? By calling on the name of Jesus and the Spirit of God.

Finally in Jude 1:7, the Bible reminds us that the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were involved in sexual perversion and destroyed as a warning of the eternal fire of God’s judgment, not ours.

So, as believers of God’s Word, who have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we are not being judgmental. We are only doing what God has asked us to do, and that is to pass on to others what we have learned through attending Bible believing and Bible preaching churches, reading our Bibles, and praying for the lost.
