It upsets me to think that my wife and I have to pay to vote.
We file for an absentee ballot because we are senior citizens and disabled. When the ballots came we filled them out according to the instructions and placed them in an oversized envelope that the election board furnished. We went to the post office in Little River and paid $1.10 each to send them to the election board in Conway.
I feel that these ballots should be pre-paid for delivery to the election board. If the absentee voters are always faced with this expense I think they will be inclined not to vote. Our legislators should address this problem and introduce legislation to correct it.
