Peterson a model of educational leadership

I have been privileged to know and serve with Paul Peterson for more than three decades at Coastal Carolina University. His dedication to public education, his civic-mindedness, his servant leadership, his steadfast refusal to discriminate against students by lowering standards to accommodate administrators, his energetic defense of principles, his refusal to follow the many fads that come and go in education, his intelligence and his work ethic have been both impressive and inspirational for these many years.

There is no doubt that the schools and students in Horry County are better and better served because of his tenure on the school board. I hope the voters in his district return him to the board and may his tribe increase.

The writer, executive vice president of CCU, lives in Conway.
