Periods of clouds and sun, along with a 40 percent chance of showers and a heavy thunderstorm, are expected today in the Myrtle Beach area with a high temperature of 92 degrees, according to AccuWeather. Partly cloudy skies are expected overnight with a shower and thunderstorm and a low of 75. Tomorrow's forecast calls for an evening thunderstorm and 88 degrees.
According to officials with the National Weather Service in Wilmington, N.C., a moderate rip current for July 4 from the morning until evening for coastal areas of the Carolinas including: Brunswick, N.C., New Hanover, N.C., Pender, N.C., and Georgetown and Horry counties.
The evening outlook for Fourth of July fireworks displays is partly cloudy with temperatures in the 80s and a 20 to 30 percent chance of storms, with most areas being rain free at 9 p.m.
