Periods of clouds and sun, along with a thunderstorm, are expected today in the Myrtle Beach area with a high temperature of 94 degrees, according to AccuWeather. Partly cloudy skies are expected overnight with a low of 80. Tomorrow's forecast calls for an evening thunderstorm and 93 degrees.

A heat advisory is in effect for southeastern North Carolina and northeastern South Carolina including, Brunswick, Horry, and Georgetown, according to Accuweather. The advisory is set for 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Heat indexes could reach 109 degrees in some areas due to high temperatures and humidity. Residents are warned to take breaks from the heat and be on the lookout for heat-related illnesses.
