A heat advisory is in effect for southeastern North Carolina and northeastern South Carolina including, Brunswick, Horry, and Georgetown, according to Accuweather. The advisory is set for 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Heat indexes could reach 109 degrees in some areas due to high temperatures and humidity. Residents are warned to take breaks from the heat and be on the lookout for heat-related illnesses.
