COLUMBIA, SC Saturday's St. Pat's in Five Points festival will go on rain or shine, the Five Points Association announced Thursday.
The day's weather forecast has improved slightly, with the chance of rain dropping to around 50 percent all day and accumulation less than a quarter of an inch, according to the National Weather Service.
The daylong celebration starts at 8 a.m. with the Get to the Green 10K, 5K and 1-mile Family Fun Run. Festival gates open at 9 a.m., and the parade starts at 10 a.m., beginning at Dreher High School and proceeding down Devine Street toward Five Points.
The first bands are scheduled to take the stages at 12:30 p.m.
