Suspect sought in February 25 armed robbery and kidnapping in Columbia

Columbia police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man who barged into a Paces Brook Avenue home, February 25 demanded money from two women who were there and then tried to get money from their bank accounts.

Tavius Cortez Wiggins (also known as ‘Tay’), 23, is considered ‘armed and dangerous’ Police Chief Skip Holbrook said in a news release.

Wiggins allegedly stole money from the home but failed in an effort to get more of the victims’ money from an ATM machine.

When captured, Wiggins faces charges of armed robbery, kidnapping, burglary and possession of a weapon during commission of a violent crime, Holbrook said.
