Horry County Police to host two sessions of Camp PRIDE this summer

The Horry County Police Department will host two sessions of Camp PRIDE, a three-week, summer day camp for young people ages 11 to 15.

The camp is staffed by school resource officers and is free to campers. Camps will be held weekdays from June 9-27 and July 7-25, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Slots are limited to ensure the proper counselor to camper ratio.

Campers are divided into five squads – Privilege, Respect, Independence, Diligence and Excellence – and learn to develop discipline, resourcefulness and teamwork. Activities include team sports tournaments, an adventure-based challenge course, teach achievement objectives, reward trips and an awards and recognition ceremony.

Applications are posted on the Camp Pride Facebook page,
