One man is dead and three men are in custody following a shooting Monday at an off-campus housing complex near Coastal Carolina University.
Cameron James Culp, 20, was killed Monday afternoon at The Cove apartment complex, home to a number of CCU students, according to Horry County Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden. Culp was from Detroit, M.I. and died of injuries sustained in the shooting, she said.
Police responded to the complex off S.C. 544 around 3:25 p.m. where officers located the victim, who was laying in the side parking lot.

None of the suspects, nor the victim, are students at CCU, according to university spokeswoman Martha Hunn.
Coastal Carolina was on lockdown for about an hour, but the lockdown was lifted around 5 p.m.
No one is in any danger but police are still investigating, said Lt. Selena Small, with Conway police. Police are not releasing the charges until warrants are served, she said.
Small did not know the cause of the shooting because it's still under investigation, she said.
“We are still actively investigating this case and do not have anything further to release at this time,” Small said about 6 p.m. Monday.
Although The Cove is not on Coastal Carolina's campus, students do live there, according to Doug Bell, spokesman for CCU. President David DeCenzo was seen leaving the scene after being briefed by police.
Parts of The Cove's parking lot are still blocked off while police investigate, Small said. The Cove is located at 1142 Highway 544 in Conway.
