Conway police charged one man with kidnapping and assault after a woman said she was held against her will.
Franklin Chimento Meaux, 20, of Blythewood, is charged with kidnapping and first degree assault. He was released from J. Reuben Long Detention Center on a $30,000 bond, according to jail records.
Police were flagged down by a woman at Monarch Apartments in Conway – located at 642 Highway 544 – on Saturday. The woman told police the suspect “the suspect became physically aggressive with her in an apartment and would not allow her to leave,” said Lt. Selena Small of the Conway Police Department.
The incident occurred around 2 a.m., Small said.
Meaux was charged with manufacturing or distributing crack cocaine near a school last April. He was also charged with possessing a controlled substance, trespassing and violation of paraphernalia, according to jail records.
