A Myrtle Beach man was arrested after allegedly pointing a gun on a school bus with multiple children on board.

Emmanuel Louis Ingram, 34, was charged by Horry County Police with three counts of pointing a firearm at a person and interfering with the operation of a school bus.

The man was observed by students and a bystander as having a small, black handgun that he pointed at the bus, an arrest warrant said.

In security footage, the officer was able to hear a child say, “He had a gun,” the warrant said.

On May 7, 2025, about 3:30 p.m., a person told officers that he was dropping children off from school in the area of Scorpio Lane and Crystal Lake Drive in the Surfside Beach area, a police report said. Ingram was standing at one of the stops. After the children exited the bus, the suspect gets on the bus and proceeds to start yelling at what appears from the report to be the bus driver and the children.

Security footage shows the bus driver getting up out of the driver seat and advising the suspect multiple times to exit the bus. However, the suspect refused, the report said.

Horry County spokesperson Lisa Bourcier said by email that the man was an upset family member of a student. He got on the school bus during the afternoon drop-off, prompting the bus driver to ask him to leave and call police.

Ten students were on board the bus at the time.

Ingram was arrested on June 4, 2025, and remains in J. Reuben Long Detention Center without bail.
