Myrtle Beach looking for suspects after reported armed robbery at Ocean Boulevard hotel

Myrtle Beach police are searching for two suspects after a man and woman reported being robbed of cash and an iPad in an Ocean Boulevard hotel room, according to a police report.

Officers were called about 8:15 p.m. Tuesday to the Sun and Sand Hotel at 2701 S. Ocean Blvd. where a 20-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man reported the incident.

The 21-year-old man told police he and the woman were walking on the beach smoking a blunt when they met the two suspects, who had vodka, police said.

The male victim said the group decided to go to a hotel room together to “party” and watch television, according to the report.

The male victim told authorities that the group spent time together in the hotel room, and then one of the suspects pulled out a handgun, pointed it at them and demanded their things, police said.

The victims said the suspects then ran out of the room, and that they went to look for them after waiting a while, but didn’t find them.

Myrtle Beach crime scene officers and detectives were called about the incident, and the investigation is ongoing.

No arrests had been made in connection with the incident as of Wednesday morning.
