A 46-year-old Lake City woman was arrested Tuesday after police said a gun was discovered inside her purse at the Myrtle Beach International Airport, an Horry County police report states.
Stacy Bryant Matthews was taken to J. Reuben Long Detention Center and charged with carrying firearms in a building, records show.
TSA workers said they spotted the Ruger LCP .380 in a purse after it went through an x-ray security machine, the report states.
The gun was found in a black case within the purse, police said. Five rounds were discovered inside the magazine in the gun, authorities stated.
Matthews was taken to an airport office and then to J. Reuben. She was release on $500 bond later that day, online records show.
