A 54-year-old white male was arrested and charged with attempted murder after allegedly threatening to kill his brother, according to a police report.
Conway resident Marcus Gattis was arrested after he went into his 50-year-old brother’s mobile home around 11 p.m. Wednesday, “waving a small handgun around and hollering, ‘Where’s [redacted],’” according to the report.
Gattis was mad at his brother for not taking the blame for “wrecking” a truck Monday night on U.S. Highway 378, according to the police. Gattis does not have a valid driver’s license, according to the report.
While Gattis was waving the gun around, his brother “bear-hugged” him from behind, according to police.
Gattis and his brother wrestled for the gun, which police say was fired at some point during the struggle before Gattis’ brother successfully gained control of the weapon.
The two continued to fight after Gattis was separated from the gun, which police later found secured in a heating duct.
Around that time, the brother’s girlfriend called 911, and Gattis fled, hiding under the mobile home until police left, according to the report. Gattis then drove to his house on Marigold Road where he was arrested.
