A break-in was reported at a Dollar General store on S.C. 905 Thursday morning, and Horry County police were on scene investigating.
Krystal Dotson, spokeswoman with Horry County police, said no one was hurt, and there are currently no suspects. Police initially said they believed the store was robbed, but later stated the incident was a break-in.
Police were making their rounds around 5 a.m. when an officer noticed a “gap between doors” at the store that appeared “unusually large,” according to a heavily-redacted police report that excluded what else officers found upon arrival.
Officers said they “cleared the building for any potential suspects inside” and noted the office area appeared to show signs that the unknown suspect “carried away surveillance equipment and left the office in disarray,” according to the report.
