Police said alleged shoplifters took nearly $2,000 in merchandise during yoga-pants heist at Myrtle Beach store

A Victoria’s Secret store employee told Myrtle Beach police that a man and woman took yoga leggings with a total value of nearly $2,000, according to a police report.

Officers were called about 7:15 p.m. Tuesday to the Victoria’s Secret store at the Market Common where a store employee reported the incident, authorities said.

The employee told police she heard the store alarm go off, and another customer told her that a man and woman ran out of the store. The employee said she saw the couple running away from the store, and the man was carrying a large white bag, according to the report.

None of the employees saw the couple take items, but noticed that about 36 pairs of yoga leggings were missing after they left. The yoga leggings are valued at $54.95 each, police said.

The store employee told police that earlier that day a couple matching the description of the one involved in the alleged shoplifting at their store also took items from the Broadway at the Beach location.

Police are still investigating the incident. No arrests had been made as of Wednesday morning.
