Myrtle Beach police charged a 31-year-old homeless woman accused of tossing a dog from a third-floor hotel balcony during a dispute with her boyfriend, according to authorities.
Jamie Taylor Gonzalez, 31, was jailed Tuesday on charges of criminal domestic violence and mistreatment of animals and was being held pending a bond hearing on the domestic violence charge. Bond was set at $469 cash on the animal charge.
Officers were called at 2:20 a.m. Tuesday to Summer Sands Motel at 1404 S. Ocean Blvd., for a disturbance, police said.
Gonzalez told officers she argued with her boyfriend of two years and they fought, according to the report. Gonzalez said she had bruises, but police did not see any on her body other than a self-inflicted scratch.
