An Atlantic Beach man was ordered to serve three years in prison after he pleaded guilty to fatally striking a bicyclist and an unrelated robbery charge, according to court records.
Demetrius Cordel Hall, 25, of Atlantic Beach pleaded guilty Thursday to robbery and felony driving under the influence with death results, according to court records. Circuit Court Judge Deadra Jefferson sentenced Hall to three years in prison on each charge and the sentences will run concurrently.
Hall was ordered to pay court costs and given credit for time served.
Hall was charged with felony DUI in connection with the death of 33-year-old Herminio Vasquez Mendoza, who died on the scene of the crash that happened July 12, authorities said.

Mendoza was riding south on U.S. 17 South in the 3400 block when Hall struck him while driving a Nissan, police said. Hall continued to drive south for a few blocks before walking back toward the scene of the crash, where he encountered the police.
Police gave Hall a field sobriety test and found him to be intoxicated.
