The cause of death for a man whose body was found in Loris this week was a gunshot wound to his head, according to Horry County Deputy Coroner Tony Hendrick.
Hendrick released the cause after an autopsy of Dashadre Jacorey Sampson, 21, of Myrtle Beach on Friday. Police found Sampson’s body at an abandoned area off Bennett Loop in Loris on around 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Police were called to the 1000 block of Bennett Loop, where the body was found. Bennett Loop is off Airport Road in Loris.
Horry County Police spokesman Lt. Robert Kegler said it appears the area where the victim was found is not where the shooting occurred.
