Motorists traveling along U.S. 17 Bypass near the Myrtle Beach International Airport encountered delays Wednesday morning following a vehicle crash, according to authorities.
The crash was reported at 8:49 a.m. Wednesday on the Bypass near Joe’s Diner, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol Real Time Traffic Information system.
Officials with the S.C. Department of Transportation warned at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday that the left southbound lanes of the Bypass were closed because of the crash. By 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, officials had removed their warning about the lanes being closed.
Additional details about the extent of injuries, number of vehicles involved and how long the lanes may be shut down while emergency crews respond the crash were not immediately available.
