A North Carolina man is facing charges after a woman told police she jumped from a second-floor balcony to get away from him, but he followed her.
Bruce Lamar Fees, 46, of Sanford, N.C., was being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center on charges of first-degree assault and battery, kidnapping and first-degree burglary, according records at the detention center. Fees was booked at the jail on Oct. 10, according to the records.
Police said a 38-year-old Myrtle Beach woman reported that her boyfriend, Fees, showed up at her apartment on Wickham Drive and assaulted her multiple times, according to the report. The officers noted the victim had cuts to her face and was bleeding from several of those cuts in addition to her mouth and nose.
The victim told officers she was able to get away from Fees by jumping from the balcony of an apartment, but he followed her, grabbed her by the hair and pulled her toward the apartment, according to the report. Witnesses told police they heard the victim screaming and came to her aid, and Fees left in a vehicle.

The victim was treated at Grand Strand Medical Center.
Officers saw a man matching Fees description and chased after him, but he was able to evade police by running through nearby neighborhoods, according to the report.
The Horry County bloodhound unit was called to track the man. It was unclear how and where Fees was taken into custody.
